This August marks the one-year anniversary of the relaunch of the upgraded Wolfson Theatre, our main auditorium for hire in central London.
During our August 2024 summer maintenance closure, this 300-seat conference space underwent a major refurbishment, aimed at elevating both its design and functionality.
Today, we're proud to offer a premium setting for conferences, AGMs, awards ceremonies and other corporate events.
Sustainability is at the heart of all our operations at RCP London Events. With the refurbishment of the Wolfson Theatre, we took further steps to align our venue design and event operations with our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability.
Minimising environmental impact
Every detail of the refurbishment was chosen to reduce environmental impact while enhancing the delegate experience. The theatre now features carpets made from Econyl yarn, a material crafted from recovered fishing nets, supplied by Balsan, a French company committed to lowering the environmental footprint of its products.
The seating, designed and manufactured in the UK by Audience Systems, offers comfort and durability whilst reducing the carbon footprint associated with transportation. The wood panelling, supplied by Naturewall, is hand-made in East Yorkshire using sustainable materials, including recycled felt, and offers acoustic properties that ensure a superior auditory experience.
These changes not only reduce the environmental impact of the theatre but also create a space that is both modern and mindful of its ecological footprint.
Inclusive design for all
In addition to our sustainable focus, the refurbishment of the Wolfson Theatre also prioritised accessible and inclusive design, with particular attention to the needs of neurodivergent individuals. The interiors feature a muted, neutral colour palette with calming shades of grey and green to reduce sensory overstimulation and create a welcoming atmosphere for all attendees.
Natural materials and textured surfaces add warmth and depth to the space without overwhelming the senses. The theatre is equipped with the latest accessibility technology, including Mobile Connect assisted listening, live captioning and sign language interpretation upon request. A motorised accessible platform lift ensures easy access for wheelchair users and those with mobility scooters.
These thoughtful enhancements reflect our ongoing commitment to creating a space that is modern, inclusive and sustainable venue that aligns with the values of today’s event organisers.
The Wolfson Theatre in numbers
The refurbishment represented a major investment for RCP London Events, positioning the Wolfson Theatre as a leading choice for event organisers who prioritise sustainability, accessibility and cutting-edge technology.
In the 11 months since reopening, we've been proud to register a +27% increase in large conferences and events hosted in the theatre, welcoming over 16,000 delegates (+23% YOY) to this premium space.
With its mindful design and upgraded facilities, the Wolfson Theatre is set to remain one of London's premier conference spaces.
We're also delighted to have been recognised as 'Best Conference Venue' and 'Best Venue Customer Service' at the Conference & Events Awards 2025, a testament to our commitment to innovation, excellence and outstanding client support.
