Keeping you safe

The safety of all who visit or work at RCP London Events is our top priority. The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) works with our security supplier, Amulet, to ensure that we have effective measures in place so all who are on site remain safe and secure.

We have 24-hour security on site. This utilises both manned guarding and electronic systems such as extensive CCTV coverage across the site, along with monitored alarm and access control systems. All security officers and event staff who work on-site complete a comprehensive training programme to ensure they are familiar with the site and its emergency procedures, and understand how events work at the venue.

Our security officers will be visible during your event and will carry out regular patrols around the site throughout the day. If required, we can provide additional security resources for your event. Please speak to your Meetings and Events Planner in advance if you require additional officers, or if you would like advice on event security.

In addition to working with our security provider, we also work closely with The Metropolitan Police and the local officers from the Royal Parks. Both uniformed and covert officers regularly visit the site.

In line with the current proposed legislation awaiting Parliamentary approval, Martyns Law, RCP London Events has already implemented measures preparing us for compliance.

These measures include staff training, external independent audits of our procedures and upgrades to our CCTV and access control systems.

How can you help?

  • Speak to our staff: please tell security or our events staff if you notice anything suspicious while in and around the venue. This could be unattended packages, luggage or vehicles, or someone behaving in a suspicious manner
  • Use our cloakroom: our priority is to ensure you and your delegates have a smooth and pleasant experience whilst at RCP London Events. Therefore, we ask you to remind your delegates not to leave bags or personal items unattended whilst on site and to make full use of our cloakroom
  • Registration process: we recommend that during your registration process you consider not having your name badges on display. In addition, we suggest that you send delegates a communication prior to the event day with a means of identifying themselves in order to collect their badges.  Security officers will be present in the vicinity of your registration desks should you require any advice or assistance
