Award winning 2023 for RCP London Events

It has been a triumphant year for RCP London Events, as our venue won three industry awards in 2023. From being awarded excellence for our conference services and spaces to being recognised for our sustainability initiatives, these awards are a real testament to the hard work and dedication of the whole team.

Best Conference Venue Award

The venue's versatility and uniqueness allow our team to deliver bespoke packages which are extremely popular with event organisers.

In 2023, we streamlined our catering offer to include either a Day Delegate package for events with over 50 delegates, either traditional (9am to 5pm) or flexible (9am to 3pm), or a Hospitality Menu for events with less than 50 people. In this instance, clients can either choose our ready-made Hospitality Package (with refreshments served over an 8-hour period and a lighter lunch), or pick and mix from our breakfast, refreshments and lunch options to create the catering offer of their choice.

We also introduced a plant-based only DDR menu and a sustainable premium drinks package for receptions, and evening and summer events. As part of our sustainability efforts, we prioritised vegan/vegetarian dishes on our menus and increased the proportion of fruit and vegetables.

Technology

Our technology offering was also recognised in the award. At the onset of the pandemic, we switched from physical to virtual to ensure our clients could continue to engage with their audiences. This resulted in the creation of our in-house virtual events platform, RCP London Events.

Since then, we’ve enhanced our post-production and video services as well as our hybrid offer. We understand how the post-COVID world has changed the way people live and attend events. We have included on-demand content to be available post-event for 30 days, to ensure clients can catch up with content whenever they want, wherever they are.

New 4K projectors have been installed in our built-in auditoriums. We’ve also upgraded our hearing loop solution by installing Mobile Connect assisted listening systems, so users can follow the audio from an event via app on their mobile phone.

Sustainability Award

We also won Silver in the 'Sustainability Award for Venues' at the London Venue and Catering Awards 2023.

Operating in a Grade 1 listed building and as part of an organisation that is over 500 years old is challenging when it comes to sustainability because of the nature of our environment and long history, yet, we are proud to have been awarded three green accreditations by professional bodies measuring our venue’s and organisation’s impact on the environment.

We are the first and only royal college to achieve the Carbon Trust Standard and we hold ISO 14001 standard certification for environmental best practice. ISO 14001 is the international standard that specifies requirements for an effective environmental management system and provides a framework that organisations can follow to improve resource efficiency, reduce waste and improve overall environmental impact.

The planet matters to us and we take a long-term approach to operating in a sustainable way for our catering offer. Our plant-based and healthy options were up by 35% in 2022/2023: to account for this, we continue to place vegan, plant-based and vegetarian dishes at the top of our menus and have introduced a plant-based-only DDR menu as a direct result of customer feedback. We have also formed three new collaborations with environmentally conscious partners: Toast, Ellis Wines, and Edmunds. This exciting venture aims to integrate sustainability seamlessly into every aspect of event operations, setting a new standard for responsible event hosting.

Our forward thinking and innovation for change resonates through our venue, staff and clients, creating a positive influence for others and to have this recognised solidifies our commitment.
