About
Saluda Medical is a global medical device company focused on patient outcomes, science, and engineering to transform the neuromodulation industry through patented Closed-Loop Chronic Pain Therapy. The company produces Evoke, the first and only Closed-Loop Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) System that is designed to optimize pain relief by measuring and recording each patient’s unique response to stimulation. The technology makes millions of real-time adjustments per day to maintain a consistent level of therapy.
The Event
Saluda Medical needed a venue to host a small medical meeting for 15 doctors to get together, learn more about the SCS system and work together to share case studies with their peers. The meeting was to be the first of its kind globally and held during the pandemic.
The Solution
Saluda Medical chose RCP London Events to host the two-day event in May 2021. The venue was chosen for its great geographical location and speedy COVID response. Saluda Medical was particularly impressed with the venue’s can-do attitude and clear idea of how the event could work, notwithstanding the uncertainty as the booking was made during lockdown in February 2021.
Event organisers said the team operated a very professional approach when compared to other venues and was great at conveying how the event would look with the COVID restrictions which needed to be in place.
The Result
The two-day event was the first in-house event to be held at the venue during the pandemic. It took place in RCP London Events’ Council Chamber with a mixture of presentations from doctors onsite and virtual presentations from the US and Australia. There was also a patient demonstration held at the front of the room and a drinks reception and dinner in the RCP London’s Dorchester Library to round off the event.
The Future
Saluda Medical says the event will grow organically and will become a regular yearly fixture at the venue.
