2022 has been an outstanding year for RCP London Events, and we were delighted to win a plethora of awards in recognition of our team’s efforts. As the year and the awards season draws to a close, we take a walk down memory lane and look back at our successes.
Best Conference Venue
In the summer, RCP London Events won silver for ‘Best Conference Venue (up to 400 Theatre Style)’ at the Conference and Events Awards. These awards bring together professionals from the conferences, exhibitions, consumer and corporate events, agencies, venues and associations sectors. It was fantastic for our teams to be recognised for the work achieved during and post the pandemic.
Despite the COVID-19 restrictions and our venue being shut until July 2021, we continued hosting critical meetings by pivoting to virtual and offering hybrid solutions, while raising awareness of our venue through a rebrand and the launch of a new venue website. This underpinned the innovation and creation of our RCP Virtual event platform.
We also focused on sustainability by continuing to improve our catering offer, with all profits from events held going back into the Royal College of Physicians’ core activity to drive improvements in health and healthcare through advocacy, education and research.
Best Venue with Outdoor Space and Catering
In November, we scooped a further two awards at the London Venue and Catering Awards, which recognises and rewards outstanding achievements in London-based venues and catering companies. We won gold for ‘Best Venue with Outside Space’ and silver for ‘Best Catering at London Venue’, in collaboration with our catering partner CH&CO.
Our outdoor space entry focused on our Medicinal Garden which is a wonderful, tranquil space adjacent to Regent’s Park. The real joy of this space is its unique and bespoke collection of plants: our 1,100 plants, herbs and flowers tell the myriad stories from diverse cultures and different countries, and offer an illuminating window into the history of medicine throughout the centuries.
In the summer, the Medicinal Garden transforms itself into an oasis for hosting creative summer events, pizza and barbecue parties, post-conference drinks receptions with interactive food stalls and al fresco dining for up to 200.
It is rare to find a venue so centrally located with outdoor garden space making RCP London Events a truly unique space in the heart of London, of which the judges agreed.
The catering award focused on our partnership with CH&CO. Under a few guises, the CH&CO team on-site at RCP London Events have been the bedrock of consistency and champions of service excellence within the venue since 1995. Originally under Fare of London, then Harbour & Jones, the team are now cemented as one of CH&CO’s top-performing venues within their portfolio under ‘Venues by CH&CO’.
The versatility and uniqueness of the event spaces have allowed the team at CH&CO working alongside us to create a bespoke catering offer that is respectful of both organisations’ long-term commitment to sustainability and our clients’ requests for innovative DDRs and fun, unique packages for summer.
It’s been a fantastic year for the venue and we look forward to more of the same as we enter 2023!
