The Seligman Theatre, the Platt Room and the Medicinal Garden each offers something unique, but together they create a conference experience that feels fresh and engaging.
The Seligman Theatre: where your conference takes shape
The Seligman Theatre sets the tone for everything that follows. It's a purpose-built, tiered auditorium with fixed seating for up to 140 delegates and it's equipped with everything needed to deliver a professional, high-impact event, whether that's a major conference, an AGM, a lecture series or a hybrid event with delegates joining remotely.
Our dedicated in-house AV and technical team are at the heart of what makes the Seligman Theatre work. They're with you from the initial planning conversation through to post-event delivery. They bring expertise to every format from live streaming, HD projection, split screens, real-time video mixing to filming and editing. Everything is handled in-house, which means a level of care and consistency for every conference.
For sessions where audience participation matters such as with polling and Q&As we use Slido and provide a QR code that delegates can scan with their phones which makes engagement genuinely easy and immediate.
And for hybrid events, our setup ensures that remote delegates have as rich an experience as those in the room. We offer flexible production packages designed around different formats and budgets, from our full theatre package through to an exclusive Immersive Projection Package that transforms the space into a fully branded, high-impact visual experience.

The Platt Room: light and the power of a good transition
One of the things we hear most often from event planners who work with us is how much the Platt Room changes the feel of a conference day. It's a beautiful, light-filled space with a full wall of windows overlooking the Medicinal Garden and the effect for delegates moving from the auditorium into this room, particularly on a summer's day, is immediate and genuinely restorative.
The Platt Room can be used in a few different ways for summer conferences. It's an excellent space for standing conference lunches, where the combination of natural light with garden views and well-considered food creates a midday break that genuinely refreshes. It works equally well as a post-conference drinks reception space as it’s relaxed and connected to the garden outside. When we have an outdoor event running in the garden, the Platt Room serves as a natural, elegant indoor extension, giving guests the freedom to move between the two without the event losing any of its atmosphere.
That seamless connection between inside and outside is something we're particularly proud of. There's no hard edge between the Platt Room and the garden, just a natural flow that keeps the energy of the day moving in the right direction.
The Medicinal Garden: our most memorable summer space
The Medicinal Garden is a unique outdoor setting that brings a very different energy to a conference day. Our distinctive and carefully curated collection of over 1,100 plants, herbs and flowers tells stories from a wide range of cultures and countries, offering a fascinating insight into the history of medicine through the centuries.
In summer, the garden becomes a natural extension of the day, transforming into an atmospheric setting for post-conference drinks receptions and summer parties, with interactive food stations and al fresco dining for up to 200 guests.
The space is thoughtfully styled with rugs, benches and a stretch tent to complement its surroundings, while lighting, entertainment and additional décor can be added to create a tailored evening experience. For those looking to add another layer to the event, guided garden tours can also be incorporated, offering an engaging and informal way for delegates to round off the day.
A conference that moves through the day
What makes our summer conference offering work so well is the way these three spaces, all conveniently located on the same floor next to each other, come together across the course of a day and something we love helping event planners shape and refine.
The day often begins with breakfast in the Platt Room, before moving into the Seligman Theatre, where morning sessions set the tone and build momentum. With tiered seating, high-spec AV and a seamless professional setup, the space is designed to hold attention and create an atmosphere that immediately feels focused and purposeful.
At lunchtime, delegates return into the Platt Room, where seasonal menus and thoughtfully prepared dishes create a natural pause in the day. Our approach to catering is designed to keep delegates refreshed and energised for the sessions ahead, and the feedback we receive on the quality of the food is something we take enormous pride in.
That investment in the middle of the day makes a real difference to the afternoon sessions. Delegates return to the theatre refreshed, having eaten well, moved around and spent time in natural light, bringing a renewed sense of energy and focus back into the room.
As the day transitions into evening, the Medicinal Garden comes into its own. Whether it’s a summer barbecue, a pizza party or drinks reception for up to 200 guests, the setting effortlessly creates a buzzing, sociable atmosphere. If the British weather has other plans, the Platt Room provides an elegant contingency nearby where the transition feels seamless and the atmosphere remains intact.
Food and drink that reflects the day
Our approach to catering is designed to complement the rhythm of a summer conference, with food and drink that is seasonal and appropriate to the setting from morning through to evening.
Our Day Delegate packages, applying to a minimum of 50 delegates, are built around flexible menus through London Larder, our network of trusted London-based suppliers. Seasonal ingredients sit at the heart of every menu, with a range of options available throughout the day to suit different formats, audiences and dietary requirements without compromise. When it comes to outdoor summer dining, our signature Pizza Party and BBQ Party packages are firm favourites, both offering three hours of al fresco enjoyment including beer, wine and soft drinks.
Plant-based and health-conscious dishes are given equal prominence across our menus, reflecting both changing expectations around event catering and the priorities of many of our clients, particularly within the medical and academic sectors. The focus throughout is on food that feels fresh and enjoyable to eat during a full conference day.
The setting matters
Location plays a key role in the experience of any conference and the RCP London Events offers a setting that is both central and exceptionally well connected. Situated in central London beside Regent's Park, it combines strong transport links with the added benefit of immediate access to green space.
The venue is easy to reach for delegates travelling from across the UK and internationally, with nearby Warren Street and Baker Street Underground stations and mainline rail connections from Euston and King’s Cross, making arrival and departure straightforward. Once here, the proximity to Regent’s Park adds an extra dimension to multi-day events, offering a welcome change of surroundings between sessions and a sense of openness that’s rare in a central London location.
