The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) today announces it has installed the Sennheiser SpeechLine Digital Wireless microphone, the world’s first digital microphone, as part of a £100,000 overhaul of its tech facilities.
The RCP has replaced all of its existing microphone systems with 38 new Sennheiser SpeechLine digital wireless microphones and is set to be the only conference venue in the UK that offers this digital service. This new system will provide users with better audio quality, a more reliable signal, optimisation of speech intelligibility and greater security due to the microphones’ advanced 256-bit AES encryption.
Alongside the new microphone system, the London based venue has also installed HD projectors and HD touchscreens into a number of its meeting rooms. This new technology has been designed to enhance delegates’ meeting experience with touchscreen controls, large motorised screens and concealed ceiling speakers to ensure the best quality of audio playback when using the projectors.
In these meeting rooms, the RCP has also installed the Kramer VIA connect pro collaboration system. This powerful collaboration tool can connect up to four devices simultaneously to a projector or screen without wires, meaning that presenters can annotate on presentations in real time, save the annotations and share with other users connected to the device.
Deputy Director, Meeting and Events at the RCP, David Parker, says: “We’re really pleased to be the first conference venue in the UK to offer the Sennheiser SpeechLine Digital Wireless Microphone. The new microphone system along with new screens and projectors provide an altogether enhanced experience for events at the RCP.”
New live stream service launched
As part of the investment at the RCP, the venue is officially launching a new in-house live streaming service after a successful six-month trial period. This new in-house streaming system will allow delegates to stream meetings from the RCP to the world, supported by an established in-house technical team.
David Parker comments: “This year we have chosen to invest in our tech facilities, as we know that the demand is growing and we need to make sure we are ahead of the game. Over the last six months, we have been looking at ways to improve our streaming services to add greater value for clients. With our new in-house streaming services and AV team I believe we have achieved our goal.”
