Located in the RCP's Grade I listed 'modernist masterpiece', our museum collections have been gathered over five centuries since the foundation of the RCP by the Royal Charter of Henry VIII in 1518. From books to medical artefacts, paintings to silverware, the museum collections reflect the changing nature of medicine and of the RCP's role throughout the years.
Our talks and tours are a great add-on to any event, either online or in person. Intrigue your delegates with an introduction to the RCP, a building and history tour, an exhibition tour, or a talk on a variety of subjects ranging from the library of John Dee to anatomical art.
All intros, tours and talks are delivered by a member of our knowledgeable Museum and Archive Services team, who will be on hand to answer questions.

The RCP boasts the largest surviving collection of books once owned by the fascinating and enigmatic Elizabethan mystic Dr John Dee.
Based on the award-winning 2016 exhibition 'Scholar, courtier, magician: the lost library of John Dee', this talk will give you an opportunity to find out more about Dee's life and interests, as well as the links between science, medicine, magic and religion in Tudor England.
In 1958, architect Denys Lasdun was handed an impossible task: design a radically modern building for a 500-year-old institution.
This curator talks tells the story of Lasdun's challenge and how he succeeded in building a masterpiece. Opened in 1964, the Royal College of Physicians is a complex blend of art and engineering, elegantly enclosing ancient ceremonial history and traditions within a white-tiled casket of concrete and glass.
